Spent a few days out in Claremont last week. City has less people than the town of Hampton, lots of empty buildings, and lots of drug addicts roaming the streets. This city has lost much if its appeal. Both Gordon and I were enticed by its history when driving through on our way home from Stowe VT, a month and a half ago.
Lots of interesting places and stories there. During their time, the city was booming, now it is at a standstill. I would argue that is the result of capitalism coming & going there.
I would hope the recent real estate investments will get the city going again.
