Local taxpayers foot the bill for the state

Hampton PD chief requested $300,000 for outside services to include coverage of Hampton Beach State Park. Town is also responsible for fire and public works coverage on state property and beaches.

Hampton should either be awarded these properties and their revenues or be 100% reimbursed for the annual services provided. These absolutely necessary costs are now appropriated by the town of Hampton budget and paid for by Hampton taxpayers while the state reaps all the associated revenues.
